Multiple System Atrophy
In 2010, Wendy was diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA), a terminal and degenerative brain disease with no known cause, treatment OR remission. Only symptom management exists with the ability to potentially slow down the disease progression.
The prognosis is a sustained and progressive loss of movement and body functions leading to confinement in bed and death within 7 years of diagnosis. Wendy was forced to slow down and become conscious, intentional, centered and present.
Her body had gone into complete adrenal shutdown. Her ability to manage stress naturally completely stopped working. Autonomic dysfunction took over. Her innate fight or flight response was completely exhausted resulting in Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency and lifelong oral cortical replacement therapy.
As it turns out, the extended exposure to oxidative stress combined with unconsciously manifesting past trauma took an unconscious toll on her and stopped her dead in her tracks.
Wendy began to surrender and change her life.
Since then, Wendy has been seeking and practicing alternative healing modalities. This has led to defying medical understanding and an MSA diagnosis at this time.
Alternative management and modalities exist, especially when it comes to autoimmune diseases caused by extended exposure to stress and unresolved trauma.
Wendy is grateful to be an example that a terminal diagnosis does NOT always equate a death sentence.
A life without hope is not living.
